"Do Two Artists Work Here?”
Visitors to my studio often ask this question.
My practice spans multiple media, reflecting a single, evolving artistic exploration. At age 40—after a lifetime of believing I wasn’t creative—I began painting on silk. These luminous surfaces became flowing garments, accessories, mounted paintings, and ethereal wall hangings I called “silk floaters.”
Five years ago, I stepped into new territory with mixed media, finding fresh ways to layer meaning and material.
This evolution across media is more than a change in materials—it is a journey inward. No matter the surface, technique, or form, the source remains the same: a desire to explore facets of myself, to give voice to different aspects of my personality and perception. What unites the silk’s radiance, the abstract mixed media, and the bottles’ layered symbolism is my crazy passion for color, for beauty, and for the visual as a language of expression.
So, when people ask if two artists work here, the answer is both no and yes. No, because this is the output of one person. And yes, because each medium allows a different dimension of me to emerge—like multiple voices in the same conversation, all speaking through the language of art.
