A real-time painting of a background image on canvas that serves as the foundation for a follow-on painting.
2:30-3:00 Marianna Kiraly PAINTING WITH FIRE!
A brief introduction to working with encaustic: This demo includes some fundamentals of encaustic painting as well as additional techniques such as shellac burn, the diffusion of pigment powder, alcohol ink, colored sand; and the inclusion of magnets, mirrors and various other objects in the wax-based media to achieve certain visual effects
DROP-IN COMMUNITY SEWING CIRCLE: Studio 203 (Second Floor)
12:00-4:00 Collaborate with Nanette Wylde on a scrollwork by Bay Area Arts Champion Jan Rindfleisch. This work will be featured at a memorial exhibition alongside other Rindfleisch collaborations at WORKS / San Jose in July. No experience necessary.
